OWNER

Julia Kreis, R.N., B.S.N.  has been doing Pilates since 1996.  After losing 100 pounds, she found that she needed to find her body alignment and to work on core strength.  She also has osteoarthritis so she wanted to be able to work out with minimum pain even when she was inflamed.  Pilates proved to be the best exercise method for her; and it has changed her body and her life.  After working for 35 years as a rehab nurse, becoming a Pilates teacher seemed a natural transition for her skill set and experience.  Julia obtained PMA certification in 2006.  She has studied and practiced Classical Pilates and Core Dynamic Pilates, has completed Polestar Pilates’ Rehab course to become a movement specialist, and studied the Alexander Technique in 2007.  She opened The Pilates Connection in Tucson in 2003 where she offers private and group Pilates training, and has run a complete Pilates Teacher Training program.   Read about Julia's remarkable weight loss story.

Melissa
PMALogo

Melissa Friesenborg is a certified Pilates teacher with 10 years of experience and more than 750 program training hours.  She specializes in techniques using mats, the cadillac, and reformer.   Her desire is to help her clients achieve their fitness goals to a healthier, well-rounded, holistic life.  Melissa has a bachelor's degree in social work from Iowa State, nonprofit, and private sector organizations in Tucson. Melissa is  internationally and nationally known.

Jamey

Jamey Garner is a dance artist, movement, educator, and adventurer. Jamey's movement technique is developed from her study of Yoga and Pilates combined with 35 years as a dancer. She is a Stott Pilates certified instructor for Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels, with InjusJamey attended Oklahoma State University, traveled to Kenya with the School for International Training, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.

Michele Jones

Michele Jones, BA, MEd, MS, completed the required course hours for PMA certification in 2009 and has been a certified fitness instructor since 1984 (IDEA, ACE and AFAA).  She is also a level 3 Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist, teacher and founder of Yoga for You, and completed the Sole to Spine course by Madeline Black in 2009.  Michele brings heart and energy to her teaching with the goal of bringing out the best in her students, focusing on spinal health, flexibility, core strength and a deeper body-mind connection. Her classes accommodate various levels of strength & flexibility.

Charlotte Sunday

Charlotte Sunday, BS, RN, MSN, FNP-BC, has been a board certified family nurse practitioner since 1994 and is currently practicing at Saguaro Eastside Medical Group.   Charlotte has enjoyed the personal benefits of Pilates training since 2003; and acquired the necessary hours for PMA certification by completing the Pilates Teacher Training Course taught by The Pilates Connection in 2009.  She also completed the Sole to Spine course taught by Madeline Black.  Charlotte is delighted to see how Pilates compliments her skills as a Nurse Practitioner; and how her skills as an NP help her to better identify imbalances and weaknesses in her Pilates clients to develop individualized training programs that will help them achieve better flexibility, core strength, full body strength and balance.
